Tommie Lee Hudson, 68, of Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Hudson was a native of Halifax County, the son of the late Lee Roy Hudson and Eula Wallace Hudson. He was a graduate of Weldon High School and retired from Champion International. Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his son, Michael Blain Yates.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wages Hudson; two daughters, Pamela Hudson Porch and her husband, Andy, of Roanoke Rapids, and Teresa Hudson Cherry and her husband, Michael, of Colonial Heights, VA; two sons, Rodney Yates and his wife, Brenda, of Rocky Mount, and Dale Grant Yates of Roanoke Rapids; nine grandchildren; one sister, Maurice Shearin of Roanoke Rapids and two brothers, Donald Eugene Hudson and his wife, Catherine, of Lakeland, FL and William E. Hudson and wife, Kayla, of Atlanta, GA.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Monday, April 13, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., with Minister Billy Meinsen and Minister J. Paul Furrow officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
